Anchorage Faith & Action • Congregations Together (AFACT) was created in 2003 by eight congregations to organize, empower, and mobilize local faith communities to address quality of life issues affecting their community. Central to AFACT’s purpose is the training and development of leaders in congregations who will:

  • visit the families in their congregations and the community to identify those issues most pressing for Anchorage's low- and moderate-income population
  • conduct research and meetings on identified issues
  • learn how local government works, and
  • build relationships with local officials in order to effect institutional change.
